Cron expression generator

Cron runs tasks on your site automatically at set intervals, but five-field expressions are hard to read and write correctly. The tool offers presets or validates your own expression, explains when it runs, lists the next five runs and produces the full command to paste into cPanel.

This tool runs in your browser and needs JavaScript.

How to use it

  1. Choose a preset or write your own expression, and state the script to run.
  2. Press the run button. Results are listed separately as definite problems, possible issues, unverifiable and passed; each finding shows what was found, what it means, the fix and the limits of the check.
  3. Apply the suggested fix and run the tool again to confirm. Use “Copy result” to add the report to a support ticket.

Example

For a stock-sync script every 10 minutes during office hours, see that “*/10 8-18 * * 1-5” runs on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:50. The “Example” button in the form fills in a scenario like this and shows the result immediately.

Scope and limits

The expression is parsed in your browser and next times are computed locally; no job is created on your server.

Your inputs are not added to the address bar or passed to analytics, and result pages are not indexed by search engines.
