Base64 and URL encoder/decoder

Base64 carries binary data as text; URL encoding makes spaces and special characters safe in addresses. The tool uses UTF-8, so accented letters stay intact. It offers Base64URL, full-address and parameter-value modes and spots double-encoded values.

This tool runs in your browser and needs JavaScript.

How to use it

  1. Choose the operation and paste the text or encoded value.
  2. Press the run button. Results are listed separately as definite problems, possible issues, unverifiable and passed; each finding shows what was found, what it means, the fix and the limits of the check.
  3. Apply the suggested fix and run the tool again to confirm. Use “Copy result” to add the report to a support ticket.

Example

Decode Base64 text seen in an email header to read it, or encode a search term before adding it to a URL parameter. The “Example” button in the form fills in a scenario like this and shows the result immediately.

Scope and limits

Conversion runs in your browser using UTF-8; your input is sent nowhere.

Your inputs are not added to the address bar or passed to analytics, and result pages are not indexed by search engines.
