Password strength test

A long-looking password made of a team name and a birth year can be found in seconds. This test examines your password only in your browser; points are deducted for common passwords, sequences, years and frequent patterns, and the strength is explained for offline and online attack scenarios.

This tool runs in your browser and needs JavaScript.

How to use it

  1. Type the password to test (preferably an example with a similar structure).
  2. Press the run button. Results are listed separately as definite problems, possible issues, unverifiable and passed; each finding shows what was found, what it means, the fix and the limits of the check.
  3. Apply the suggested fix and run the tool again to confirm. Use “Copy result” to add the report to a support ticket.

Example

“Galatasaray1905!” has 16 characters but contains a known word, a year and a common pattern, so it is rated very weak. The “Example” button in the form fills in a scenario like this and shows the result immediately.

Scope and limits

The analysis runs entirely in your browser; the password goes nowhere, and copying the result never includes the password itself.

Your inputs are not added to the address bar or passed to analytics, and result pages are not indexed by search engines.
